Snowy Sunday

After my frosty pictures of Saturday I was keen to get out in the snow on Sunday!  Tess and I walked along the banks of the Wandle and it was lovely.  Loads of kids in sledges, being pulled along by their parents.  I should have loaned them Tess – she can pull!

The River Wandle was gently steaming in the cold air.  The snow was already starting to thaw and drip off the trees, and I even spotted some dried hops flowers.

Wintry morning

What winter mornings are supposed to be like.  Beautiful clear sky this morning, blue from horizon to horizon.  Frost on the leaves, mist in the air, the sound of birds waking as the sun comes up.  Cold hands, cold nose, cold feet, cold toes.  As long as I’m wrapped up warm I love these chilly wintry days!

Now we just need a bit of snow….

Light through a leaf

As I was drawing the curtains, I noticed the fairy lights shining through the veins of the leaves of poinsettia plant that sits on my window sill.  I had to grab my camera (well, mobile phone!) and take a snap of them.  This one was particularly beautiful (even if I do say so myself!)

Edit: I sent this to the super talented photographer Jenn DiGuglielmo and she added it to her site!  She is taking one picture a week based on a different theme each time.  Head on over and she what other beauties she posts up!
